Who am I?
My name is Michelle Flores, and I graduated from Florida International University with a major in Psychology and a minor in Religious Studies with honors. Also, I earned a certificate in Holocaust & Genocide Studies. Throughout my academic journey, I was fascinated with Behavior Analysis and completed the BCaBa sequence at FIU. After I completed my Research Methods and Data Analysis course, I became a learning assistant for Research Methods I and II under Dr.Maria Reid of the Psychology Department. Working under Dr.Reid taught me important teaching, communication, and active listening skills. I believe it is important to know how to adjust your teaching style based on the needs of others while knowing how to transition from an educator to an active listener and vice versa. As a Global Medallion student and advocate for gender equality, I was an English tutor for women dealing with crises in countries such as Jordan and Syria. With my interest in behavior, I started a project, We are the Future, as a Millennium Fellow, in which I provided supplies and resources to help children with nonverbal Autism excel in everyday life. Overall, my goal in life is to help others be the best version of themselves by sharing my knowledge and skills.
