The Global Learning Medallion program consists of an extensive series of courses and activities designed to enhance my global awareness, global perspective, and attitude of global engagement. It pushed me to think of things beyond a local scale and see the issues affecting others all around the world. While pursuing the Global Learning Medallion, I was exposed to the Sustainable Development Goals, created by the United Nations, such as no poverty, zero hunger, quality education, clean water and sanitation, etc. Inspired by the Sustainable Development Goals, I became a Millennium Fellow and created my project, We are the Future. We are the Future project focuses on providing quality education to push the limits of individuals affected by Autism, specifically nonverbal Autism. I was given amazing opportunities in the program and gained knowledge, leadership skills, communication skills, and became an active listener and thinker.
